Academy Award-winning actress Angelina Jolie is charting a new chapter. One likely to take her far beyond the confines of Los Angeles. Sources reveal Jolie intends to relocate abroad once her youngest children, twins Knox and Vivienne, turn 18 in July 2026, thereby concluding a longstanding custody arrangement with ex-husband Brad Pitt that has anchored her to L.A.
Currently 50, Jolie purchased her historic Los Feliz estate for $24.5 million in 2017. The sprawling 11,000-square-foot Beaux-Arts home, featuring six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, a pool house, and lush rose gardens, has served as a sanctuary for her and her children. Sources indicate she is now preparing the mansion for sale, scheduling minor renovations before listing it. Jolie has long expressed that her presence in L.A. was limited to fulfilling legal obligations. “I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be … that humanity that I found across the world,” she shared in a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
As she looks ahead, Cambodia, where she adopted her eldest son Maddox and to which she holds deep emotional ties, remains a favored destination. She has described it as the one place “in my heart” that she considers home and plans to spend significant time there. In stepping away from Hollywood’s spotlight, Jolie joins a growing roster of stars opting to pursue a quieter, more globally focused lifestyle. Once her children reach adulthood, it appears she’ll turn that vision into reality.
