Justin Baldoni has filed a $250 million libel lawsuit against The New York Times, naming actor Ryan Reynolds in the case. The complaint, lodged at the Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges that Reynolds "aggressively berated" Baldoni over comments he made regarding Blake Lively's weight during the filming of It Ends With Us. Baldoni, who directed the film, claimed the comments were related to safety concerns due to his back issues and were not intended as 'fat-shaming'.
Baldoni's legal team criticised The New York Times for its 4000-word article on December 21, titled 'We Can Bury Anyone: Inside a Hollywood Smear Machine', which they claim presented a one-sided narrative. The lawsuit argued that the article amplified harassment allegations against Baldoni without proper scrutiny.
