Dr. Zyro Wong,

CEO, Zyro Wong Consulting Sdn Bhd.

Do you describe yourself as a natural leader?

Leadership traits have perhaps been inborn in me since I was 12. Back then, I already knew what I wanted to do in life. I embraced entrepreneurship at this young age and created micro-enterprises selling homemade food and as a young teenager, I was already evolving into other small ventures in education industry decades older. Back then, I believe that leadership came naturally to me. I was hardworking, observant and had my team of friends and family who supported and believed in me.

What do you feel most proud about?

I am most proud of the confidence entrusted into me by my family, friends, partners and companies. Without them, I won’t be me today. They believed in my true potential and encouraged me to move forward and not give up, no matter what challenges popped up. Such empowerment is precious to me and this is something that money cannot buy.

“Together we can create synergies for growth and sustainability”- Dr Zyro Wong shares his vision and ideas.

Which is one of your most defining moments in life?

This was when I first set up my branding consultancy and moved into my new office premises, having moved from multiple businesses to pursue my passion for helping people and companies grow. It was a testament that my dreams were coming true. The success of the people and brands that I help to nurture are important to me. Every time they share an accomplishment, I feel like a proud and happy mentor who has seen hard work coming into fruition.

Who do you admire the most?

Datuk Eric Chong who founded Erican on the spirit “If Eric can, so can you” and who has transformed the lives of people struggling to master the English language. I know Datuk Eric Chong personally and was trained by Datin Lee on softskills – sales persuasion, critical thinking and so when I was 15 years old. Both of them are truly an inspiring icon in my life. Their mission is to inspire as many people as they can to realise their fullest potential and this truly resonates with my personal mission.

What is your strongest personal quality?

Resilience. I have a “never say die” attitude, and no matter what obstacles form in front of me, I believe that I can overcome them. I will always analyse each situation objectively to uncover possible solutions and outcomes, while maintaining equilibrium for parties involved.

Who inspired you to push through rough patches?

My mother. She is an awesome person who has always been with me every step of the way. She is a very strong woman who has always believed and encouraged me. Whenever I need someone to talk to, my mother is always there with a listening ear and words of encouragement. We have a close-knit family together with my siblings, and I truly treasure this precious bond deep in my heart.

What does a perfect day look like?

A day where I can partake in moments of learning, fun and networking while having leisurely moments to reflect on inspirations and plan ahead. Simple things like these mean a lot to me, because they are the foundation towards greater achievements to come.

Would you like to share your thoughts with your followers?

Always believe in yourself and that you have boundless potential, no matter your age or background. Always follow an attitude of learning, improving, upskilling and reskilling to meet the needs of the evolving tomorrow. Never stay complacent because our life is meant to be more meaningful.
