4. What has been your goal with every coming success?
The philosophy of ‘Doing Well and Doing Good’, along with our core values of Knowledge, Action, Care & Impact have been constant in our journey and serve as guideposts to help us become the company we would like to be.
5. What differentiates Piramal Pharma products from others?
PEL offers a wide range of financial products and solutions, with exposure across both wholesale and retail financing. The wholesale lending business provides financing to real estate developers, as well as corporate clients in non-real estate sectors. Within retail lending, the Company offers housing loans to individual customers and is building a multi-product retail lending platform. India Resurgence Fund (IndiaRF), the distressed asset investing platform in partnership with Bain Capital Credit, invests in equity and/or debt across non-real estate sectors.
6. Tell us about the Piramal Foundation?
Piramal Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Piramal Group, is a Section 8 company that develops innovative solutions to resolve issues that are critical roadblocks towards unlocking India’s economic potential.
The Foundation believes that bringing impact at scale across diverse geographies and communities can be achieved through partnerships with governments (Public-Private-Partnership Model) and like-minded organisations. Therefore, all of its projects are in conjunction with state and central governments, like-minded philanthropists, corporates, donors, NGOs and social delivery organisations. Piramal Foundation is committed towards improving primary healthcare & nutrition, education leadership and women & youth empowerment, and enabling access to safe drinking water.
7. How does it feel to be listed in Forbes?
I am highly honoured and it’s a respectable feeling to be listed for your achievements.
8. With the economic slowdown, how much time do you think India will take to get to progress economically?
I cannot tell you the time definitely. There are always highs and lows in life but if you maintain an even keel, then you can take the right decision. We will revive soon and we are recovering well.
1. How were the textile industries when you started at the age of 22?
The textile industry was riding the crest of a gigantic wave, with increasing production figures, skyrocketing profits and an expanding market.
2. What is the one thing that has remained constant in work in your journey till today?
My family has been my only constant in life. With their support I balance my work.
